North Providence Senior Center I TLA Architects

The Salvatore Mancini Resource and Activity Center is a new state of the art senior center facility, which replace the old antiquated center. This new building is a two story traditional architectural imagery that is expressed with a timeless classical appeal. The multiple hip roofs provide the new center with scale and context, and seamlessly embraces the surrounding residential neighborhood. Capitalizing on the site grade differential, the medical facility and gym allowed exterior ventilation and visibility maximizing natural light . The two story nutrition center provided a raised platform to expand it functionality. Activity areas included in the building’s design were a nutrition center, library, Computer Room/ Cyber Cafe, gym & exercise rooms, painting room, ceramics room, billiard and card room, conference and meeting room, executive offices, and plenty of storage. Also included is a separate but adjacent medical and adult day care facility which is leased out to a private organization that provides a host of services to the seniors.
